Description
SNAP-8 (Acetyl Octapeptide-3) is a synthetic octapeptide modelled on the N-terminal region of SNAP-25, a core protein of the neuronal SNARE complex, developed as an elongated successor to Argireline.
SNAP-8 competitively occupies part of the SNARE complex that docks acetylcholine-containing vesicles at the neuromuscular junction, partially and reversibly reducing the neurotransmitter release responsible for repeated micro-contractions. Published data comes from manufacturer topical-formulation testing, not independent academic trials.
SNAP-8 is a topical cosmetic ingredient, distinct from injectable research peptides.
